Hello everyone,
We are happy to announce our next Chapter meeting on January 25, 2021.
The business meeting will begin sharply at 7:00 P.M. Everyone is invited to log on at 6:45 to check audio/video. Minutes of the January 4, 2021 meeting are available on the Chapter 21 Blog. Following the business meeting, around 7:45 P.M., Ken Reindel will present on the topic: Repairing Telechron Electric Ships Bell clocks. If you google the topic, you will quickly learn how stumped folks are with this model. They call it everything from the “Telechron Mistake” to “not worth fixing” to “they just don’t make any sense,” etc. etc.
Bottom line is that folks just don’t understand them, largely because there is no published information about how to properly service them. Many folks just eventually give up and shut off the strike, which is really a shame. Yes, there are some challenging aspects, but once you see what those challenging things are, some guidance on how to repair, assemble and set them up, your odds of getting good results will greatly improve. Or, at least you will know what needs to be done! And really, there are only a couple of common failure elements to deal with.
