Monday, October 26, at 7:00 PM, Ken Reindel will be presenting repair and restoration of Hammond Bichronous Clocks. The Hammond Bichronous are beautiful well-built electric clocks manufactured roughly between 1928 and 1941. They offer a very unique feature: When the power fails, they keep running accurately for up to 30 minutes! Numerous beautiful models abound, but most are in poor shape as found because they are just plain difficult to get working. Ken has created a presentation that includes a brief history, dissection, explanation of operation which de-mystifies them, shows where they fail, and how to restore the Hammond Bichronous to like-new condition. The presentation includes a brief section on fabricating new fiber wheels (which fail on almost every clock). Also included will be lots of movement photos that are intriguing and useful in their own right.
The month Chapter meeting begins at 7:00 P.M. Monday, October 26. The presentation will begin approximately at 7:45 P.M. You are encouraged to log in before the meeting or presentation start time to assure a good connection. Looking forward to seeing you there!
Chapter 21 is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.
